Main Street America Insurance together with American Family Insurance group companies donating $50,000 to relief organizations

In response to Russia’s unprovoked military attack and the massive humanitarian crisis the people of Ukraine are experiencing, Main Street America Insurance together with American Family Insurance group companies are donating $50,000 to relief organizations providing emergency assistance.

Main Street America is pledging $10,000 to CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund, The Dreams Foundation is donating $10,000 to UNICEF, CONNECT and The General are providing $10,000 each to the International Committee of the Red Cross and Homesite is donating $10,000 to Save the Children.

“Watching these horrific events unfold has brought both shock and sadness,” said Main Street America President and CEO Chris Listau. “Our hearts go out to these families though we know that alone is not enough. This donation is our way of showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and we are hoping for the safety and stability of the country.”

The Dreams Foundation has identified a list of charitable organizations providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine and its citizens, particularly children. Employee or agency owner donations to these organizations will be matched through American Family Insurance group’s matching gift program.

“We stand with the people of Ukraine,” said Bill Westrate, American Family Insurance group CEO. “American Family Insurance group and its employees and agency owners support Ukraine not only through words but action. Our fervent hope is this military action will end soon and that peace can return to this region and its citizens.”
